Dear Jaguar Band Families,

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! The timing was perfect as it capped off the Johnson Band’s first-ever UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation and sent us straight into a three-day weekend. Now that we have had a little time to relax and spend time with family and friends, let’s go over what this week has in store for our Jag Band family.

This week we have our second New Member Camp Tuesday, April 6, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Johnson High School. Our last camp was a huge success with approximately sixty incoming new members, and we are looking forward to increasing that number as we progress through the spring. These camps are extremely important in the development of our newest marchers, and we need every new member to attend! If you know anyone who will be a new member of the Jag Band this fall, please remind them to attend the camp on Tuesday.

Next up this week is the launch of our SNAP Fundraiser. We postponed our last date of launch to allow the bands to focus on UIL. Now, we need to focus on SNAP! We need EVERY member of the band to create their profile and enter their required number of emails. This fundraiser cannot be successful if our students do not fully participate. Parents, help your student complete their registration profile and enter their email addresses. EVERY STUDENT must complete this process fully or our fundraiser will NOT be successful. There is no reason for our students not to participate fully - Let’s Do This!!!!

This coming Saturday, April 10th, is the TCGC Contest which will be held at Johnson HS. Each section has been asked to donate various items, and we encourage you to help us meet those requests. This event benefits our Guard program and is a super easy way to get all of our band members and families involved. Also, let’s make sure we wish BOTH of our Winter Guards the best of luck as they are not only hosting this event but are competing in it, as well! Go Jag Guard!!

All band students interested in becoming part of our SLT (Student Leadership Team) be on the lookout. Signup information is coming soon.

Music for band placement for next year will be issued to all band students in grades 8 - 11 very soon, as well! We want to get every student placed in their appropriate band class for the 2021 - 22 school year at JHS!

The Johnson Jaguar Band depends in large part on the fundraising efforts of the Band Boosters. Sponsorships are a very important part of fundraising. Our Sponsorship levels have been updated, and we have a lot of exciting options for businesses AND families! We ask that every family please share this brochure with anyone you know that has a business. We are eager to help promote businesses in our community that support the Jaguar Band! A new addition to our Sponsorship options is the Friends and Family Level. This level offers various options for businesses as well as an option for band families: For $200, you can have your child’s name and graduation year on our band trailer indefinitely with the option to simultaneously add sibling name for an additional $100.
