Saigling Library
September 2015
Welcome Back!
We are off to another exciting year!
At this time, students are visiting The Library Media Center (LMC) with their class on a weekly basis. Students are allowed to check out books for a week at a time. Please help your child remember to return their book(s) on or before their library day.
The library supports the classroom curriculum and provides opportunities for students to read for information and pleasure, enhances research and problem solving skills, as well as teaches library and information acquisition skills needed in the real world.
The library has an open door policy, which permits students to visit the library for research or to check out library books as often as they wish.

International Dot Day
International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009. It relates the tale of a teacher who challenges one of his female students to take courage in her abilities and from a dot on a page the youngster goes on to make her mark. It has grown from this one classroom to now be a worldwide celebration each year.
Let’s Make Our Mark and See Where It Goes for Dot Day 2015!
