Interim Superintendent's Message: Welcome Back!
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! Our first day of the new school year was a success and helped set the stage for a very successful school year.
We are eager to begin this new school year and welcome our returning and new students to our school system. Our staff is excited and optimistic about what lies ahead for our students, families, and our community.
The first few weeks of school can feel overwhelming, and we want to help you start the year on a positive note. There will be bumps, twists, and turns. However, we remain committed to being flexible and serve the needs of our children and their families.
Our promise to you is to ensure that every student is successfully prepared to become college, career, and life-ready graduates. We cannot do this alone and will need to partner with you to accomplish this very important mission. We need your help.
The start of a new school year allows us to develop innovative goals and build new relationships. We have implemented new systems to achieve academic growth and social learning. As we work toward increasing student achievement, it is also essential to focus on our student's social and emotional needs. We want to work in partnership with our parents/guardians and community partners to ensure our students can grow and learn in a welcoming and safe environment.
As Interim Superintendent, I am proud to serve the Normandy Schools Collaborative. We have an exceptional team of dedicated and caring staff teaching our students to read, write, solve problems and discuss the wonders of the world. We are excited about the journey ahead.
I have scheduled two meetings so I can hear directly from you. The first meeting is scheduled to take place at 8:00 am on Thursday, September 15. The second meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 22. Both meetings will take place in room 207 at the district’s central office, located at 3855 Lucas and Hunt Road and include a light meal. Please contact Ms. Lori Thompson to register. We will work to keep these meetings small in an effort to have meaningful conversations, and schedule more of these meetings throughout the school year.
Please accept my best wishes for a successful and wonderful school year. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Don't hesitate to contact us should you need our support.

Your Child's 2022 MAP Scores
Students who took the 2022 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests last spring will soon bring home a printed copy of their student reports. These reports show your student’s grade level score in Math (Grades 3-8 and Algebra I), English Language Arts (Grades 3-8 and English 2) and Science (Grades 5, 8 and Biology). The student reports provide your student’s performance level (advanced, proficient, basic or below basic) on their individual content area test and provide some additional specific content information.
If you do not receive a printed student report by Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, please reach out to your student’s counselor. If your student did not attend a Normandy Schools Collaborative school last year, we will not have access to your student’s report. Please contact your student’s prior school for this information.
