MD Guidance & Counseling - April 2018
10th Grade Monarchs
A CSF & NHS Meeting will be held on April 19th, 2018 at 7:30am in the LeVecke Center. All members are encouraged to attend! This meeting includes our Annual CSF Awards Ceremony for qualifying CSF Sealbearers & NHS Awards ceremony. This is an inspiring meeting for everyone in attendance! Freshmen CSF students, please plan on attending!
We would like to encourage those students who are in Biology this year, especially if you are doing particularly well, to consider signing up for the SAT Subject Test in Molecular Biology. See the www.collegeboard.com website for details, test dates, and to register. Please note that it is necessary to prepare individually for this exam, as the exam covers additional curriculum. MD is a test site for non-MD students as well and spaces fill up quickly; therefore, register as soon as possible to ensure a seat.
Mr. Nguyen is our Gateway Center Coordinator and he can help you find wonderful summer program and internship opportunities. Stop by and see him in the Guidance and Counseling Office during Office Hour or email him at dnguyen@materdei.org.
Academics
Remember, first semester grades are used to determine Junior year classes, and second semester grades are used to confirm placement in those classes. It is important that you study each night and turn in all of your homework on time! Be sure to regularly check Aeries, Blackboard, and take advantage of Office Hours with your teachers.
