Safety Week

Next week is Safety Week. Throughout the week we will be doing our safety drills with students (evacuation, severe weather, bus evacuation, intruder). This is a good time for families to review their safety procedures in the home!!!

Picture Day Sign-Up

Picture Day is coming up on Thursday, May 13th from 3:00PM-6:00PM. With the circumstances this year, these will be optional for families.Last names A-K will be at Millburn Elementary and L-Z will be at Millburn Middle School. Use the links below to Sign-Up.

Specials for 4/27-4/30

This week there will be no new Specials lessons. We have set this week aside as a make-up week. If you are all caught up, use the Choice Boards during your specials time each day. Please check Schoology to see what assignments are missing and what your current grade is. Younger students can see what lessons they haven't completed in the Activities section of each class in SeeSaw. If you need help with anything please visit the Specials teachers in their Office Hours.

In addition to class assessments that our teachers use for learning, the district and state also administer assessments as well.


MAP Tetsing (K-5)- Weke of May 3rd

ISA (5th Grade)- Week of May 10th

IAR (3rd-5th)- Week of May 17th


Below are the assessments we will be administering next month.

MAP Testing (K-5)- District

Starting the week of May 3rd, students will be given the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) online assessment in the areas of Reading and Math. Below is information about this assessment. We will not only see where students are at with their skills but also see how much growth they have made this school year. Students have as much time as they need to complete the test.

ISA (5th)- STate

The Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) is administered to all 5th graders in the state of Illinois. This 3 part assessment covers a variety of science topics. Each testing session lasts up to an hour long. We plan to administer this assessment the week of May 10th. More information on how our Remote students will be given these assessments will be sent in the coming weeks.

IAR Testing (3rd-5th)- State

Starting the week of May 17, students in grades 3rd-5th grade will be administered the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). This is a series of 5 assessments (2 English Language Arts and 3 Math). These assessments will be done in person on students iPads. More information on how our Remote students will be given these assessments will be sent in the coming weeks.

April D.E.A.M. Calendar

Here is the DEAM Calendar for this month. This is not a required activity, but is a wonderful way to get moving and active with your family and friends. If you choose to do this, simply print out the calendar or copy it down on a piece of paper and do the activity listed each day of the month. If you complete the calendar you will be entered into a raffle for a prize from the PE teachers!

Millburn Family Virtual Fun Run: The Millburn Family *Virtual* Fun Run starts tomorrow. Grab your running or walking shoes and get moving! The Fun Run will be virtual this year and is scheduled for April 24, 2021! Complete the 5k anytime between April 24, 2021- May 1, 2021. There is still time to sign up. 8th Grade Farewell Celebration: 8th Grade Families – Invitations are mailed. If you did not receive one please reach out to us.

We will be holding this Millburn tradition for our graduates on Friday, May 21st . Our FRIENDS themed evening is for our graduates and their parents/guardians only.

Masks: Millburn masks available (mustang/elementary and cougar/middle school). Online orders will be taken each month and submitted at the end of the month. You will be notified by email when your orders arrive at the school and can be given to your child's teacher or pick up.
