From the Principal | February 16, 2024
Good Afternoon!
We had a great time celebrating "You Are Loved" Week. We had a variety of activities, small treats, stickers, etc. to express our care and support for each other. Thanks to HopeSquad, PTO, staff and students for their engagement this week! It is always a great way to propel us to the four day weekend.
I hope you all enjoy your long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday.
Better Together,

THIS WEEK
Show OPENS This Week!
Tickets are now on sale for the Jerome Theatre Department presentation of The Sound of Music!
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as outside forces take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.
Shows are Thursday February 22, Friday February 23, Saturday February 24 @ 7pm with a sensory friendly performance on Saturday February 24 @ 1:00pm.
Reminder: Check Student Grades in Infinite Campus
Student overall grades are synced weekly from Schoology to Infinite Campus. I would encourage all families to login to the Parent Portal to review your child's progress thus far in the third quarter. Click the link below if you need assistance with Infinite Campus.
COMING SOON: Schedule Verification Emails
Families will receive course verification emails to students and their primary guardian on next week. This is an opportunity to review studnet course selections shared with the the school counselor. This email will include a Schedule Change Request Form if there are changes that need to be updated from the requests.
Please be on the lookout for this email within the next week. Thank you for your patience and support with our scheduling process.
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
ATTN JUNIORS: School Day SAT on Tuesday, March 5
Beginning in 2016 school districts in Ohio were required to select and administer a college entrance exam during the school day for the junior class at no charge to the student. The state’s decision to add this assessment opportunity aims to support students in meeting graduation requirements and planning for their futures.
It is Ohio law that the District administers a college entrance exam free of charge, and Dublin City Schools will be giving all 11th grade students the SAT test this school year on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Assistant Principal, Donita Hampton. More information will be sent to students' school email one week prior to March 5th.

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) recently reported the state’s first measles case of 2024 near Dayton, Ohio. While there are not any cases local to DCS at this time, we want to remind parents that any child in an affected school who cannot show proof of two properly administered measles vaccinations must be excluded from school attendance until such proof is provided. Children with written waivers or exemptions will be excluded for 21 days after the onset of the last known case in the affected school.
