January Newsletter
Admin Message
Happy New Year! I hope everyone was able to enjoy a safe and restful holiday break.
The month of January will be busy completing Term 1 classes. Please ensure you are handing in your assignments and staying on top your studies – final exams will start on January 26th. Attendance is also very important to maintain face-to-face in person learning as much as possible.
Covid 19 is still a very unwanted concern in our lives. Masking is our number one defense at school, and we ask that students follow the proper protocol and wear the mask appropriately. We will continue to update any new procedures as they are put in place by the government and the school division to ensure the safety of our students. We are doing everything we can to ensure we are able maintain an in person learning environment that is safe.

Hot Shot Coffee
The "Hot Shot" group from Entrepreneurship 30 class sold coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the morning at the school. From their proceeds, they donated to Erin Katerynych, Executive Director who accepted the cheque on behalf of the Empty Stocking Fund/Battlefords District Food and Resource Centre.

New-ish Vikings
There are a few familiar faces in the building - Mrs. Michelle Beavers is returning as an SST until the end of June and Mr. Mark Barclay will be rejoining us through to March as a reading interventionist.
Welcome, and in some cases, welcome back!
Updated Covid-19 Safe Schools Plan

Etransfers
- Make sure you are entering in the school's correct email address. nbchs.etransfer@lskysd.ca
- Clearly mark in the e-transfer notes what the money is for. Also, the more info you can add the easier and quicker the e-transfer can be deposited ex. child's name, teacher's name, etc.
- If sending money for a cafe tab, please send it at least one day ahead of time. This saves on backed up lines in the cafe and lunch hour phone calls home. Our staff will always let your child know a few days ahead of time, when their money is low. Also, you or your child can always ask how much money they have left.
- The Nutrition program also runs out of the cafe. Please indicate if an e-transfer is for a cafe tab or the Nutrition Program. It is common that your child may not know.
