Leader In Me Student Action Teams
CMS will be rolling out the first wave of action teams this month. Every Friday since the start of the school year, students have been working in what is called Jaytime. This time was devoted to working on skills and lessons designed around the 7 Habits within Leader In Me. The focus was for students to identify their own leadership skills while setting and reflect on both personal and academic goals. Beginning on Friday, January 13th, all students will be assigned to an action team of their choosing.
Each action team will design a mission, set attainable goals, and identify action steps that will be taken to reach these goals. The overall goal of an action team is to work together (synergize) and do things that better the class, school, and community. Below is a list of the actions that were created by teachers and students.

Alternative Methods of Instruction
Beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, a local education agency (LEA) will not be required to make up school hours that are lost or canceled due to exceptional or emergency circumstances (up to 36 hours). This allows our school district to implement virtual learning plans in place of up to 4 missed days of learning.
Students should have brought their packet of work home before Thanksgiving. Please place this somewhere for safe keeping until the school district uses an AMI day.
Canvas Access From Home
Having trouble logging into Canvas from a home device? Here is a quick how-to video to assist with the process. Students will need to use their @cleverbluejays.org login and Google password. This is the same credentials they use everyday when logging into their chromebook at school. If you are having trouble, please reach out to the middle school office.
Stay Connected!!
Part of our mission at CMS is to keep students and parents up to date with important information. This year we will be using various platforms to help achieve this mission.
