Parent Newsletter September 2020

Welcome Back to School!

We appreciate your patience and feedback as we begin the 2020-21 school year. We know that this year will be like no other and many of you might still have some questions. We welcome the questions and the chance to talk to you about what is working well and what still needs to be improved. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us! In this newsletter are important dates, resources, and reminders as we move into the month of September.

We are happy to have you and your child(ren) at South and look forward to a wonderful school year!

Important Dates!

September 1: BOG for Track A Students

September 2: Dual-Language Kindergarten Orientation (More information will be shared soon!)

September 3: BOG for Track B Students *Virtual students will take on another date.

September 7: No School

September 9: Dual-Language and Regular Kindergarten Orientation 6:00-7:00 pm

September 14-25th: School Store Fundraiser

September 18: Progress Reports go home for Track A

September 21: Progress Reports go home for Track B and Virtual Students

October 5: School Pictures for Track A

October 9: School Pictures for Track B

South Student and Parent Handbook

As a district, we are running low on laptop chargers. We are asking that if your student has a broken or damaged laptop charger that you will replace it. You can order a replacement charger on amazon using the following link: https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Compatible-Chromebook-Laptop-Adapter/dp/B07HSYTGJ8. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Wednesday Schedule Changes

Teachers are participating in meetings, professional development, and training based on school and district needs. This will impact student live meetings and your child's teacher will contact you when those changes occur.

Virtual HotSpots Now Availble!

You can now access free Internet at the following locations:

NMS Parking Lot
Olive Hill Park
Bushy Fork Park
Allensville Park

Hot spots have been placed on school buses at these locations. You can access the Internet if you are within 300 feet of the bus. Instructions to connect are taped to bus windows.
