Babies are found in fast moving waters and shallow ponds with lots of oxygen
Adults can live on land, near water, or in the water.
You can easily identify an adult mayfly by its triangular forewings and two or three long, threadlike tails. Mayflies have delicate, slender bodies.
We identified the fly by its distinctive characteristics, its three tails and it triangular wings. I am pretty confident that we found a nymph mayfly because while I was trying to identify it, those were the things I was seeing.
