Dear Erickson Families,

TODAY, June 1, is the last day to register your child(ren) for the 2022-2023 school year by June 1st! If you do not plan on returning to Erickson for the 23-24 school year, as a courtesy, please call the office and let us know. THANK YOU!

Tomorrow is FIELD DAY, June 2. Please remember the following:

-Sunscreen

-Hat/Visor

-Refillable Water Bottle

The PTO will provide a hot dog to all full day students (if a Rain Date is called, students will still have the hotdog on June 2) , a popcorn snack (Popcorn Brand: Smartfood white cheddar popcorn), and popsicles (Popsicle Brand: Bomb Pops or similiar to this type) to each class. Parents should still pack additional lunch items to ensure students are nourished after a day of playing outside. Parents with concerns about food allergies should have their children bring their own lunch and snack.

Parents are welcome to stop by during the outside events on Field Day between 9:00-11:30 and 1:00-2:30. If you do decide to stop by, you will need to have an ID BADGE guest pass. Please stop by the office with your driver's license to be scanned for a guest pass.

2023-2024 School Supply List: Please review the 2023-2024 school supply list. You can conveniently order from the PTO, see flyer below, or shop on your own. School supplies can be dropped off at Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop off on Wednesday, August 23 from 2:30-3:30 or brought the first day of school.

Abhi Alwar, Illustrator, and former Erickson Student...stopped by Erickson and talked about her books that she has illustrated and what it means to be an illustrator. See pictures below.

100 Point Accelerated Reader Celebration...students who have achieved 100 AR points celebrated their success with an afternoon celebration at Erickson involving fun indoor and outdoor games. Students can read over the summer and get a head start on earning AR points for next year. AR will reopen in the beginning of the school year.

5th Grade Clap Out: 5th Grade parents are welcome to gather outside of DOOR #7 at 3:15. We will have an all school clap out starting at 3:15. 5th grade students will walk around the inside of the building while staff and students clap and then the students will exit around 3:20ish from Door #7 (by Gaga Pit/Parent Parking Lot) to be greeted by parents.

Westfield Families: Along with the registration fee, incoming 8th grade students will have their graduation fee applied to their account to be paid at the beginning of the school year. Sixth grade students will have their lock fee applied to their account to be paid at the beginning of the school year.

  • Chairperson/Co-chair/large volunteer group to help coordinate for Back to School Bash/Popsicles in the Park

  • Chairperson/Co-Chair Field Day

  • Field Day is June 2nd. If you are volunteering and have reached out to the co-chairs and are on the volunteer list, please make sure you have your ID if you previously have not volunteered at the school so a badge can be made.

Please take the time to review the Erickson Family Handbook. Each class will meet with Mrs. Frattinger and myself to discuss school rules and procedures. Ask your student how to SOAR in the hallways, in the classroom, on the bus and during recess.

The first full day of school is Thursday August 25th, for students in first - fifth grade. Kindergarten & Preschool students start school on Monday, August 29th. Students may arrive between 8:25-8:40. Classes begin at 8:40.

School Hours:

Grades 1st-5th: 8:40-3:30

Kindergarten AM: 8:40-11:30

Kindergarten PM: 12:40-3:30

Preschool AM: 8:50-11:20

Preschool PM: 12:50-3:20

Lunch Hours:

1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Lunch: 12:00-12:25

4th-5th Grade Lunch: 12:25-12:50

Dropping off lunches from restaurants (ie- McDonald's, Wendy's, Panera, etc.) as well as using food delivery services to drop off food (ie -GrubHub, Door Dash) is not allowed. Students should bring their lunch in the morning to school each day. Safety is our number one priority and we would like to limit visitors.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures: Click here to learn about arrival and dismissal procedures for the 2022-2023 school year. Families should utilize the side parking lot for pick-up and drop-off. The front parking lot is designated for buses only. Morning arrival is between 8:25am-8:40am. Staff begin to supervise students at 8:25 am. Grades K and 4-5 will enter through the front doors. Grades 1-3 will enter through the side of the building. Students will begin to enter the school at 8:35 and go directly to their classrooms. School beings at 8:40.

If you are interested in ordering another Pillar Shirt, please fill out this PILLAR SHIRT ORDER FORM and send $10 in a marked envelope "PILLAR SHIRT" with your child. A new Pillar Shirt will be delivered to your child once the money is received. Please fill out one form per child.
