Pine Road Grows Great Kids

A MESSAGE FROM MR. COLE
Dear Pine Road Families,
Time flies at Pine Road and I can't believe we are well into November already. Hopefully, you had the opportunity to see our amazing fall decorations in front of our school. Great news! Pine Road won two different categories in the Lower Moreland Township Decorating Contest! The school won the award for the best driveway, and our first-grade team won the award for the best scarecrow! Additionally, third-grade won our internal contest for the best scarecrow. Wonderful job Pine Road and a big thank you to our PTA for all your help!
Just a reminder, grades went live on Thursday 11/12 (at 4:00 pm) for students in grades 4 and 5, so please don't forget to check your child's grades on Home Access Center. Conferences for all grade levels will be held the week of November 23rd, and our teachers are very excited to share the progress of all of our students for the first marking period. We continue to be amazed at the resilience of the students during this difficult time of transition.
November 20th, 23rd, and 24th are half days for students, and on November 25th the students will have no school as teachers will be in conferences. Scheduling information has been sent home and confirmations will be sent by teachers. Meeting with your child’s teacher should help build strong parent-teacher partnerships. Partnerships that are needed if you and their teacher are to reach your common goal: helping your child get the best education possible.
We will not be having our annual Thanksgiving food drive this year as originally planned due to our current virtual learning environment. In lieu of the food drive, if you and your family would like to help our LMTSD community members, please consider donating a Walmart or Target gift card. These gift cards will be a great support for families this holiday season. If you would like to donate a gift card, please drop it off at Pine Road by Thursday 11/19 in an envelope labeled "school counselor." Thank you in advance for your support!
This week, students participated in special activities and lessons to learn about Veterans Day. Students were able to watch recorded interviews with veterans who are related to some of our Pine Road students and learn about how their service to our country has impacted their lives. To watch these interviews and find other information about our virtual Veterans Day celebration, please click on the virtual events page here. We hope that you and your family will join us in honoring these heroes this week!
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Scott Cole
Principal

Dear Parents, as the holiday season draws near we will soon begin collecting for group teacher gifts as we do each year. Please remember this is a completely voluntary option designed to make your lives easier! PTA does not directly collect for the gifts, however, our helpful homeroom parents usually spearhead the communication and coordinate with another volunteer in the room to collect. If you have not already been contacted by your homeroom parent and wish to participate, please feel free to reach out to pineroadpta@gmail.com and we will get you the appropriate contact info.
Thank you,
