I am from South Alabama so this week brings one of my favorite holidays of the year, MARDI GRAS. For those of you unfamiliar with Mardi Gras, which means Fat Tuesday in French, it is the last day of feasting before the fasting season of lent starts. It is so popular in Alabama's Mobile and Baldwin counties that the Monday before Fat Tuesday and Fat Tuesday itself are school holidays. Although there are parades throughout the Mardi Gras season, the last weekend is one parade after the other. It is definitely a lot of fun!!!!
Global Scholar testing for Math and English will be taking place from 2/11 to 2/22. This is a test that students take on the computer and gives a breakdown of what standards they know and which standards they dont understand. My goal is to get their scores up each time. We have been doing warm-up testing in the areas where they have shown they need some improvement. Please note that the some class periods will be taking the text this week and others will be taking it next week.
