Student Materials Pick-Up (REMINDER)
Each grade level has been assigned a date/time slot to pick up their child’s belongings. Please see the schedule at the end of this message. We will be utilizing a drive-through system. To prepare please:
Empty your trunk and know how to pop the latch from inside the car (most cars have to be in the park position to be able to unlatch trunk).
If you do not have a trunk, please clear space in another location.
Remain in your car at all times.
Bring library books as well as borrowed books from teachers (place in trunk).
Have a piece of paper with your child’s name on it. Place it on the passenger side of the windshield so we can quickly identify who you are.
We will be utilizing the curb at the round-about in front of the office, as well as the parking lot for pick up. When you pull into the Lietz parking lot, someone will be holding a sign with your teacher's name on it, which will guide you to the correct location. Teachers will take out items from your trunk (library books, etc). They will place your student's items in the trunk and close the trunk for you. Teachers will wave goodbye for the summer!
Devices
If you are leaving Union School District, you must bring your Chromebook and/or iPad and charging cord with you. There will be a designated location for you to drop off these materials, as they will need to be checked in by our Site Tech, Jenny. If you are returning to Lietz and/or Union School District, you may keep your devices over the summer.
Gifts
If you are bringing a gift for your teacher, please consider a homemade card or leave the gift in your trunk and we will take it out for you. Please do not bring perishables.
Please note that during the week of June 1st, teachers will be onsite, packing and distributing student materials. For this reason, teachers will not be providing feedback and will likely not be holding Zoom sessions. Assignments will be available to students from our Makerspace Specialists. It will be provided through the same platform you've been using (SeeSaw and Google Classroom). We think students will really enjoy these!

5th Grade Promotion
The 5th-grade teachers and I are putting together a promotional video for the 5th-grade students and families. The link will be shared with all of you on June 3rd so that you may view it together with your family. You may also have the link as a keepsake. We understand that there may be a sense of loss this year. The video will include special elements such as student memories, speeches and awards. We hope to create, as best as we can, an experience similar to a live, in-person promotion.
Kelli Martines is putting together a program for fifth grade families, and we will print out promotion certificates. During pick up of belongings, we will distribute these materials as well. More to come on the pick up of belongings.
