Remote Learning Week 3
March 30, 2020 - April 3, 2020
Hi 1B Families
It is already the last week of March and the beginning of April :-) Thank you again for all of your patience and dedication while working with our students at home to provide the best learning opportunity for them. These past two weeks have been a difficult and challenging time, but like for everyone, we’re doing all we can to keep things moving. We are sending you positive vibes, love, and light. We will get through this together!
Weekly Lesson Plan
Every Sunday, we will be sending you the Weekly Lesson Plan (linked below) in the Smore so that you can get an idea of what your child will be learning for that week.
*Note: Although Word Study and Math Fluency work is not required to be submitted, we strongly encourage your child to complete them.
To support families' different schedules, assignments will be posted in batches. This way, you can complete more than one assignment per day if needed. Daily morning messages will still be posted each morning along with links to the assignments for that day.
- Mondays: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday assignments
- Tuesdays: Thursday and Friday assignments
*Note: Keep in mind that submission of these assignments are MANDATORY as it is our form of keeping track of daily attendance.
Submitting Assignments and Feedback
Assignments can be submitted in 2 ways:
1. Video response on FlipGrid
2. Picture upload on Google Classroom
*Note: Make sure to click "Turned In" on Google Classwork after you record your video response on Flipgrid.
Once we check your completed assignment, you will receive video or written teacher feedback on Google Classroom or Flipgrid. Students can check their school email or visit my.flipgrid.com to view the feedback.
Reading Resource: RazKids
Each student has access to an online reading site (www.kidsa-z.com) that is customized to each child’s reading level! On the website, students can read books independently and answer questions. The books are customized to the student’s current skill level ("just right" reading levels). It moves students onto more challenging books when they have shown mastery over reading those books. The site is great for students to practice independent reading at home, as well as to give families an idea of what types of books the students are currently reading on their own in class. Students love being able to read independently at home and show their families how hard they are working. Please let us know if you have any questions. Happy reading!
