***Students need socks tomorrow! ***
DC's Day of Awesomeness
This Friday, October 22 is our day of awesomeness for reaching our goal from the fundraiser. Thank you to EVERYONE who helped send out emails and donated. Every penny is appreciated and put to good use for the betterment of our school and community.
For tomorrow's event the students should wear sneakers (they will be required to have socks) and a bottle of water marked with their name on it.
This is a fun day for the kids. Unfortunately, we are keeping this event a "student only" event and visitors will not be permitted. Thank you for understanding.
Important for Desert Cove's Title I funding!
Desert Cove is a Targeted Title School, which means we receive Federal money that is used to support our students. This money is spent on training and material to increase student achievement as well as resources to provide our students social and emotional support. The money we receive is based on the number of families that qualify to receive free and reduced lunch at Desert Cove. Due to the strain covid has put on families, all students are currently receiving free lunch. This has caused our application numbers to drop BELOW what is required to receive the Federal money we use to support our students. We need EVERYONE’s help to increase our number so we can continue to receive the funding.
Thank you! To those that have already submitted an application either on-line or by hard copy. Your time and effort are greatly appreciated!
We are asking ALL Desert Cove families to submit an application. Only one application is needed per household. Applications are being sent home with students who have not yet submitted one (please check your student’s yellow folder this week). Applications can also be completed online at: EZmealapp.com.
Thank you for your help in this important effort!
