Note from Mrs. Craft
Dear Hart Families ~
Happy Monday! Excitement is filling the air with our teachers coming back to school to prepare for the upcoming year. We will spend our time together collaborating, building a strong team, and learning. We have an amazing team that is committed to providing a learning experience to your child that is second to none. Below, we invite you to learn more about our team by viewing the slide show. You can see our different teams of teachers. You will notice a lot of familiar faces just in different places. It is going to be a fantastic year.
I hope that you enjoy your last week of summer, and I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, August 7th for Meet the Teacher.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out at anytime.
All My Best,
Wendy Craft

My mission is to be a servant leader who works with students, parents, and staff to build a community that fosters relationships and learning where everyone THRIVES. Each day, I strive to make the choice to be great versus comfortable, because you can't be both!

A Note from Nurse Tami
Hello, Hart family! Just a reminder that if your child will need any medication kept or given in the clinic, certain paperwork is required. Any prescription medications or daily medications will require a form signed by both the parent and doctor. Any emergency medications for diabetes, asthma, allergy, and seizures will require the same form plus an action plan signed by a physician. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or visit our website. (Visit: https://hes.lovejoyisd.net. Click Departments, then click Clinic.) Thank you!
General Information for the Beginning of School
WHEN & HOW DO I FIND OUT MY CHILD'S TEACHER?
On Wednesday, August 2nd at 5pm, you will be able to access your child's Power School account to see their class placement for the '23 -'24 school year. If you have questions regarding your Power School account, please contact Irianna Olvera at Irianna_Olvera@lovejoyisd.net. Her first day of work is July 19th.
SCHOOL START & END TIMES
Our school day begins at 7:50 each day, and we end at 3:25. If students are not in their seats by 7:50am, then they are considered tardy. We will give students grace during the first two weeks of school.
CAR TAGS - Every family will be getting new numbers this year!
At Meet the Teacher, you will receive your child's car tag. If you are NOT going to be here, then you can pick it up on the first day of school. You will be given two car tags. If you need additional car tags, please contact Irianna Olvera at Irianna_Olvera@lovejoyisd.net. You will need this car tag to pick your child up in the car line and the Park and Pickup Zone.
1st DAY OF SCHOOL ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
The doors will open at 7:25 Monday, and students will report straight to their classrooms. On the first day of school, parents may walk their child into the classroom. To help with parking, we are asking that 3rd and 4th graders be dropped off from 7:25- 7:35 and Kinder - 2nd grade dropped off from 7:35 - 7:50. Please know that we understand if you can not follow these times, but if you can, we would appreciate your support.
ARRIVAL PROTOCOLS
Beginning Thursday, August 10th, the doors will open at 7:15 each morning, and students will report straight to the cafeteria. At 7:30, our 3rd and 4th graders will be escorted to the gym and sit by class, and our Kindergarten - 2nd graders will sit by class in the cafeteria.
In order for us to maximize efficiency, please do the following things:
- Have your child on the passenger side of your car.
- Do NOT get out of your car for arrival or dismissal.
- Pull all the way forward
- Please do not get out of line to pass cars
- For arrival, please do NOT park and walk your child in. We need all parents to go through the carline.
Below, you will find the map for traffic flow.
DISMISSAL PROTOCOLS
Students will have the following options to leave school each day.
- Bus (Signed up and paid for through Power School)
- Walker - Completed the Walker Approval Form and then must be approved
- Parent Park & Pickup - This is where parents can park their car, and then they can walk to Door 3 to pick up their child. *Please note that we will have new procedures to ensure a more orderly dismissal.
- Car Pickup - where parents drive through our line and your child is placed into your car.
At Meet the Teacher, you will be allowed to write this information down so the teacher will know how your child will be getting home. Below, you will find the map for traffic flow.
WALKER APPLICATION
In order to be a walker at Hart, you must live in the walking zone. (surrounding neighborhoods). If you would like to apply for your child to be a walker, please complete the form below. You will be notified prior to the first day of school if your child qualifies and your child will receive a special backpack tag.
BIRTHDAY TREATS
Birthday treats may be purchased from our student nutrition department. This not only benefits student nutrition but also helps us ensure the safety of our students with allergies and dietary needs. Please notify your child's teacher that you have ordered birthday treats so we do not have two birthdays celebrated on the same day. In order to minimize disruption of instruction, we ask that birthday treats/celebrations are for students and their classmates (no parent visitors). **THE FORM WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON.
VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK
We love volunteers at HES, but in order to volunteer or go on a field trip, then you must have an updated Volunteer Background check for the current school year. Please complete your background check after July 31st!
