3-6 News

The 3-6 team is so impressed with all of the hard work your children are doing. We love our live meetings with them and are amazed at how well they are handling distance learning. We have a lot of new things we are working on in each subject area! In science, we will be talking all about pumpkins! The children will learn the different parts of a pumpkin and the life cycle of a pumpkin. In geography, we are working through learning the names and colors of the continents! Ask your child to sing you the continent song! In math and language, we are working on numerals 0-10 and counting syllables. We are so excited to welcome your children into our communities on October 13th!

6-9 News

We are so excited to have our learners back inside their classroom communities! Every team member has been working to create a beautiful, prepared, and safe environment for our young learners. We are continuing to collaborate with one another to create enriching lessons and material. We wanted to say thank you to our PRM Community Families for the constant support and patience as we learned to navigate virtual learning. Moving into our hybrid model the 6-9 team and PRM Community will continue to communicate and extend grace to each other.

9-12 News

Quarter 1 ends on October 16th. It is critical for students to be completing all work as assigned. Missing work can and will drastically impact final grades. Please meet with your child regarding work completion in Schoology and refer to Powerschool. Students should contact their teachers with questions and concerns.

Language Arts: Our learners are using reading strategies to support their ideas and answers with thorough text evidence and paraphrasing

Math: 5th grade is working on volume and 4th grade is working on rounding.

Science: Applying the scientific method to experiments. Many lessons are taking place on PearDeck that allow for increased participation.

Social Studies: Our lesson this month has been about justice and the role of peaceful protests in a democracy.

CPS Parent Technical Support Hotline

Technology throws a curve ball occasionally when software is going haywire or a laptop simply will not start.

For CPS students and their families, help is a phone call away by dialing the Family Technology Support Center, (513) 363-0688 or emailing. Tech support is available in English and Spanish from 8 a.m.– 6 p.m., Monday through Friday when school is in session.

The Family Technology Support Center has been created to assist students and their families when they are not at a CPS school. The move is in response to feedback received from families during the district’s Parent Town Hall meetings held recently.

Some examples of available tech support include:

  • Resetting passwords for Google, Schoology and Powerschool
  • Troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Logging into the computer
  • Offering assistance with Google Meet, Calendar, Gmail and standard software
  • Coordinating the repair of a CPS device that is damaged, broken or not working

"We understand that technology issues arise, and we are here to support our CPS families," said Jeremy Gollihue, chief information officer. "It's important that students do not lose valuable learning time and it is our goal to resolve situations quickly so students can go back to completing assignments, doing research or connecting with their teacher."

Parents will continue to call the Customer Care Department, 363-0123, with other school-related questions.

Virtual Mindpeace Rooms

VIRTUAL MINDPEACE ROOMS Many of our students (and staff) are missing our MindPeace Rooms used to help students deescalate and learn coping skills. During this stressful time while students are not in schools and don't have access to a physical MindPeace Room, we are providing a virtual experience as a resource for students of all ages. Please share this link to 3 Virtual MindPeace Rooms (one for K-2nd grade, one for 3rd-6th grade and one for middle and high schools) on the updated MindPeace website with the students and families you serve.
