Hello, RMS Families--
The month of November is upon us, and we have some dates where school is not in session. November 7 is a Teacher Workshop, November 8 is Early Release, November 10 is Veterans Day, and November 22-26 is Thanksgiving Break!
We celebrated our first Halloween assembly where we acknowledge September and October Positive Office Referrals, honored a staff member, and voted Mrs. Cookson as the winner of the staff costume contest.
Thursday, November 9th we will be hosting our Veterans Day Assembly. We honor our veterans with a speaker and performances by band and chorus. We look forward to this event. Unfortunately, we can only invite veterans as guests because our whole student population and staff will be present.
November also brings the end of Term A. Make sure to check out Infinite Campus and reach out to your son or daughter's teacher with any questions you have.
Have a great month!
Respectfully,
Ryan Gilpatrick
REMINDER ABOUT ARRIVAL
For RMS arrival, parents can arrive by 7:05, and students can leave their vehicles at 7:10. We have had a number of vehicles showing up after the 7:25 am time frame. Students are to be on their team by 7:30. If you are dropping your son or daughter off, please make sure to pull all the way up past the soccer field.
Notes from the nursing office: π
Several letters went out to families of 7th graders that are missing the state required Tdap vaccine. This is a tetanus booster that is required for all students in the 7th grade. 7th Grade students that do not provide confirmation of the Tdap vaccine will be excluded from school.
Cold and flu season is upon us. Encourage your student to be drinking plenty of fluids, eating a well balanced diet, and get good sleep. The CDC recommends 9-12 hours per 24 hour cycle for 6-12 year olds and 8-10 hours for 13-18 year olds. Good hand hygiene is important to reduce the spread of any virus. If your student has a fever (100.4 or higher), please keep them home until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications.
The district is back to pre Covid guidelines concerning attendance. The nurses do not have any control over excusing absences. Absences will not be excused without a doctorβs note. 0.
