Knightly News: EXCEL

Week of October 10th

Creating a Culture of Excellence

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US CREATE A CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE AS WE PROGRESS

IN THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR!

Please ensure students review the Handbook in their agenda and follow all school rules.

E-Epitomize Integrity

X-eXpress Respect

C-Commit to learn

E-Exercise responsibility

L-Lead with courage

EXCEL-lence should be in all areas, this includes at afterschool events, on the buses and at bus stops. Please review the rules with your child to ensure all SGMS Knights are in a safe space with good decisions by all. For example: Bus drivers should be able to focus on the road not on students making poor choices. Help us ensure students have a safe transport to and from school. At athletic events all fans should be able to cheer for their team and not hear or see inappropriate actions. We are showcasing our KNIGHT values.

Thank you for partnering with us!

Athletics

The first half of the fall athletic season has come and gone. With it, comes a conference title for the boys soccer squad! Congrats to Coach Welder and his boys for finishing the season with a 4-1-1 record and a conference championship! The GVB squad didn’t win the conference, but they played well and Coach Crigger and Coach Mabe were extremely proud of the girls for their efforts. Football finishes up its non conference schedule with a respectable 2-1 record. They start conference play with a game vs Ferndale on October 19. No athletic contests this week, but we do begin girls soccer and boys volleyball tryouts, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday.
