Band Parent Meeting - February 17th

Please join us for the monthly band parent meeting on Wednesday, February 17th at 7:30pm. A link to the zoom meeting with be sent out via email and will be posted on the band Facebook groups.

Percussion Symphony

This Week - February 15th to February 20th

WOw! The first competition was a success!

FC Percussion Symphony performed an amazing first show of the season on Feb.13th. FCPS placed 2nd in the Percussion Scholastic World Division with a score of 76.650. Great Job FCPS! FCJV Percussion Ensemble Places 1st

Our FCJV Percussion Ensemble, made up of 7th and 8th grade students from the Junior High, placed 1st in the Percussion Scholastic Concert A division with a score of 73.40, outscoring two High School Groups. Franklin Community High School Competition - Saturday, February 20th

  • Sat. Feb. 20th ~ FC performs at 8:25pm ~ Here is the link from the IPA website with all the information you will need for this competition: Feb. 20th Competition Information

    • Please read this information! It will answer any questions you have!

  • Students will rehearse all day. An Itinerary will be shared later in the week for Sat.

  • This will be our first time traveling. Below are our Covid traveling guidelines from the Transportation Department.

    • We will be taking two buses. 25 students, 1 adult chaperone on each bus.

    • Masks MUST be worn the entire time.

    • No food or drinks are permitted on the bus.

    • 1 student per seat-with the first 3 seats of the bus left open.

    • Students will have to be in full uniform before we leave, no dressing rooms or time allowed to dress is given while at the competition.

    • Battery/Cymbals/Pit~please bring long black socks!

    • Battery/Cymbals will wear their marching shoes. Pit can wear black dress shoes/marching shoes.

    • There will be a lunch and dinner break

    • Students will need to bring a lunch

    • Dinner will be provided.

    • We like to provide dinner for the group for all competitions. Our amazing food lead and parent, Heather Buck, has created a sign up sheet for all our competition dinners. If you have any questions regarding dinner sign ups, please contact Heather at hbuck@comcast.net

Spirit Button Orders

We are still taking button orders. Click on the link below to order your spirit buttons!

Buttons are 1 for $3 or 2 for $5. Examples are below. Please give a BIG Thank You to Karen Smith for all her hard work on making us some amazing buttons!

Swag Shop Will Reopen Feb 15th

If you missed out on ordering all the swag for Symphonic Embers, the shop will be open again on Feb 15th. Please watch social media, Remind and your email for more info! This will be the last time the store will be open, so be sure to get your patch and any last minute gear!

WGI Release and Waiver Form

We still have a few members who have not turned in their release and waiver form for WGI. Please turn these in asap to Mrs. Lee.

Fundraiser Money

If you have not turned in your fundraiser money, please do so ASAP! Please place it in the white box inside the band room.

Band Payment

Our 3rd payment of $170 was due Feb 1. Please be sure to make your payments on time. If you need to set up a payment plan or discuss payment arrangements, please reach out to the Band Booster Treasurer at: treasurer@fcbands.org

Remind Sign-up

Sign up for Remind by adding fcbands-ip in the Remind app or by sending @fcbands-ip

via text message to 81010. Remind will be used to send out important updates throughout the season.

Brownsburg Competition Refunds

We are still working with IHSCGA regarding refunds for tickets from the Brownsburg competition. Another communication will be sent out as information becomes available.

Spirit Buttons

It is not too late to order your spirit/show buttons! You can place the order online via the link below.

Chaperone Sign-Up

JV chaperones are still needed for show days. You will have backstage access to the show! This is an exciting way to watch the guards warm up, practice, and perform. If you’re interested, please sign up below and make sure to have a current FTCSC background check on file. We will have a quick meeting before the season starts for new chaperones. Background checks can be completed using the link below, and must be completed before chaperoning. The process can take up to 2 weeks.

Box Truck Driver Needed

We need a box truck driver for the March 27 competition. If interested, please send an email to guardliaison@fcbands.org.

Spirit and Food Donations

With the show season just around the corner, please check your email for spirit and food donation sign ups. The guard parents have a history of putting together treat bags and lunches for the guard members before each show.
