Public Library Field Trip(s)

In January, our KUE students will begin visiting the Kingfisher Memorial Library once a month with Mrs. Lunsford. Mrs. Lunsford will introduce our students to the public library, acquaint them with the public librarians, and introduce them to programs offered through the library. Students will also be allowed to check out library books, but in order to do this, we need YOUR help. Students need to have a Kingfisher Memorial Library card to check out books. Library cards are free. To obtain a library card, take your child by the library (a parent/guardian and child must be present), show your driver’s license and something showing your physical address (bill, bank statement, etc). That’s it….your child will then be issued their very own library card. More information will be sent prior to our first library visit but we wanted to get the word out and give you time to get your child a library card. Thank you!

New Semester Means New SEL/Counseling Goals

As we embark on second semester, our focus becomes more fine tunes to Bully Prevention, Kindness, Empathy, and Conflict Resolution. We will create classroom opportunities to learn about these skills and grow.

6th Grade to Attend NO HATE TOUR Assembly January 20th:

6th Grade will get an opportunity to be a part of an incredibly impactful educational program that uses the energy and excitement of action sports to deliver critical bullying prevention tools, techniques, and information to students in a relatable, peer-to-peer manner. The program features top BMX stars that teens admire performing high-energy action sports shows on campus while speaking to the students about their own experiences with bullying, overcoming obstacles, being an ally, inclusion, kindness, surrounding themselves with positive influences, problem-solving, and other essential subjects that really resonate with teens. The Marines will be here to help out with it.
