~ May 17, 2019 ~
~*~Last day of school today ~*~ Early release at 11:05 a.m.
My first year as principal has been an amazing experience. I want to send a thank you to the students, teachers, parents, and community members of Blair Oaks for your support.
I hope everyone has a great summer break filled with new experiences and many lasting memories!

End of Year Reminders
- Please submit last-day-of-school transportation changes early to ensure all students are taken care of. Last minute calls make it difficult to ensure everyone gets home safely and in the desired manner.
- Grade cards will be sent home today with next year's teacher included. This will only take place if all accounts are paid.
Dodgeball!
This year Blair Oaks Elementary raised $8,991 for the American Heart Association. Students that raised $50 or more got to participate in a student vs. staff dodgeball game this past Monday. There were 96 student participants.

Welcome Mr. Wise!
Jason and his wife, Nikki, a physician at Capital Region, will celebrate their 15th anniversary this summer. They have three sons: Kaiden, 12, Owyn, 10, and Carson, 6. Mr. Wise grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas, and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas. He would continue his education with a master’s degree from Wichita State, and a specialist degree in Secondary Administration from William Woods University. When he isn’t sharing his passion for history with the young men and women of Blair Oaks Middle, Jason is busy coaching baseball for the high school or for his own sons. He also enjoys spending time with his family playing catch, fishing and doing yard work. Mr. Wise and his wife also love trying escape rooms, and will try a new one anytime they are visiting another city or country; they recently completed one while visiting the Dominican Republic.
He understands that his impact goes far beyond education and strives to teach life lessons to students in hopes of giving them added insight and direction in life. One lesson he tries to instill early on is that “hard work will pay off later in life.” His dedication to his students is just one of the reasons Mr. Wise was the recipient of the local VFW Character in Education award for 2019.
