- Tee-rific Accomplishment: Congratulations to MH golfers Ike Alexander and Hannah Pope for each claiming the title of Lauderdale County Golf Champions.
Youth Leadership Shoals
Youth Leadership Shoals recently held its graduation for 2016-17 participants, which included Mars Hill's Anna Lea Stewart. Congratulations to Anna Lea and the YLS students who completed the program.
Youth Leadership Shoals is a nine-month program for high school juniors in the Shoals area. Throughout the nine months, students enhance their skills in leadership, professionalism, communication and team building. In addition, participants learn about history, culture, business and economic development while getting to know other students from both Colbert and Lauderdale counties. The 2017 class chose to have a benefit dinner for the Bethesda Cancer Center and raised 3,400 dollars.
Applications for next year's class were turned in this week. We look forward to more Mars Hill students participating in this program in the future. Congratulations, Anna Lea!

2016-17 Theme: Deeper
Thus says the Lord, "Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord." Jeremiah 9:23-24 (ESV)
