Weekly Update

Rancho Elementary~Week of October 28-November 1st

Positive Behavior Weekly Focus~

The behavior standard being taught this week across our classrooms is~Staying on Task. These are the steps our teachers use and the language they utilize to support students with Staying on Task.

  1. Look at your task

  2. Think about the steps

  3. Focus your attention

  4. Ignore distractions

  5. Stop working only with permission

Loop @ the Top of the Hill/Parking

For our families who utilize the back gate, please utilize safe drop-off routines at the top of the hill and do not park or leave cars unattended and walk students down the hill. At the top of the sidewalk that comes to the back gate, the curb on Del Rey is painted white for a drop off and pick up zone. The problem is some parents are parking in the white area and leaving their cars while walking their kids down the sidewalk, leaving no place for others to just drop off their kids. This has resulted in some parents stopping in the middle of that narrow street and loading or unloading kids right into on coming traffic, which is obviously dangerous. We ask that you safely use the drop off lane at the top of the hill and do not park. We are working hard to continue to keep the back gate open and available for student access. Please help us continue to provide this support and ensuring safe drop-off procedures are being followed at the top of the path on Del Rey.
