Worthington Kilbourne Weekly News
Week of November 29, 2021
Dear Kilbourne Family,
Student Council representatives will continue to collect donations through their third-period classrooms this week for our Holiday Compassion Project. The donations will provide holiday gifts for 59 kindergarten through 5th grade Worthington students in need. The last collection day will be Friday, December 3rd.
We often get asked how families can help with this endeavor and we appreciate all the support. Families can send in monetary donations with their students to donate during their third-period class. (Donations must be cash or check. Checks can be made payable to WKHS Student Council.) Donations can also be dropped off to Worthington Kilbourne. Please clearly mark the envelope for Student Council and/or Holiday Compassion Project. If you include your WKHS student's name, we can record the donation as part of their period collection. Lastly, families can purchase gifts on their own and students can bring in the gift to their third-period class. (Gifts must be new.) If the purchased item does not work for the child assigned to your student's third period, it will most certainly work for another child.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to Megan Humphrey and/or Yo (Lawren) Smith with any questions. We appreciate the Worthington Community and are looking forward to this wonderful tradition.
Thank You!
Worthington Kilbourne Student Council

Guidelines from the Health Office: When to keep a student home from school
As we return to a normal schedule with all students attending school daily it is extremely important NOT to send your student to school if they are sick and not feeling well. A daily health check is required for parents and students to complete each morning prior to school.

Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit", Dec. 2, 3 & 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the WKHS Auditorium
WKHS Theatre will be presenting Noel Coward's comedy Blithe Spirit on December 2, 3, and 4 in the WKHS auditorium. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online only at wkhs.booktix.com.
The story follows author Charles Condimine as he does research for his upcoming novel about a detective who is a medium. He invites Madame Arcati to perform a seance where she inadvertently summons forth the spirit of his rather needy and possessive first wife. Needless to say, when the spirit of his first wife clashes with his present wife -- who is very much alive -- the situation becomes difficult.
Please join us for this wonderful production.
Delaware Area Career Center Open House / Thursday, Dec. 2 / 4:30 - 7:30 pm
To better manage the flow of visitors in the building, this year's open house will be broken down into two sessions, or two "waves" of guests. Each student may be accompanied by one guest/parent. Families will be asked to pre-register for one of the two sessions: 4:30-6:00, or 6:00-7:30 p.m. Open House info can be found here.

Parents of Class of 2022 / Cap & Gown order reminder
Parents of the Class of 2022: Production and shipping times are slowing down the supply of our caps and gowns for the Class of 2022, so it would be extremely helpful if orders could be placed early rather than waiting until the last minute. The final "last minute" deadline for all orders will be January 31st, to ensure cap & gown delivery well before the ceremony on May 22, 2022 at Noon in the Greater Columbus Convention Center in downtown Columbus.
Note: if your graduate was hoping to wear a sibling's gown from 2020 or earlier, our company will exchange the older cap and gown for the new style when you purchase the 2022 tassel or cap and tassel. On the Buckeye Scholastic website, scroll down to Questions & Answers for details about trading in an older gown.
