Hispanic Heritage Month - September 15 to October 15. Please Join Us in the Celebration!!
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month which is celebrated September 15 to October 15, gives us a special opportunity to highlight the importance of Hispanic leadership contributions to communities throughout the United States. This year we are broadening our horizons by offering some special activities which will be announced soon. However, we also want to hear from you, our KP parent/Caregiver community. We invite you to share your cultural expertise with us. Our intention is to help show, in ways large and small, how Hispanic-Americans have helped shape the United States and make it into the diverse and dynamic nation it is today.
Please join us. Contact us to share your time, talents, background or whatever you would like to offer to celebrate and honor Hispanic culture and heritage with our students, staff and families.

E Collect Forms
We will continue to handle many of our school-based forms (see below for the list) through e-collect on the Parent Portal. Please take some time over the next week (ideally by September 6th) to log on to the PowerSchool portal to complete these forms, which are found on the left side of the navigation menu. We would also ask that you review the current information and make necessary updates to phone numbers, emails, etc. to ensure school communication gets to you in a timely manner. As a reminder, these forms do not appear on the PowerSchool mobile app. Other forms (i.e. HUSKY insurance) that will not be in e-collect were distributed to students on the first day of school.

"Public Act 16-189
We believe that it is vital for all students in West Hartford Public Schools to be able to efficiently and effectively use digital tools that empower them in all phases of the learning process, including research, problem solving, content creation, communication, and collaboration. We also believe that we must be committed at all times to protecting students' privacy and providing them with a powerful and safe educational experience. To that end, the West Hartford Public Schools follow the legal requirements of Public Act 16-189 to promote the safety and security of all students and staff.
In compliance with Connecticut State Law, we update online programs used within the district that house student data. The programs may be used district-wide, in a very small number of classrooms, or with individual students. The list will be updated each time the district enters into a new contract where student data is housed. For more information on the specifics of Public Act 16-189 and updates of vendor agreements, visit www.whps.org/pa189."
