*disengage stress- Review the calming strategy The Drain and talk about how they can use this calming strategy before they use their big voice.
* connect- Review here's the bunny. Demonstrate using the whole body for this activity.
*commit-Ask students about the first two commitments (kind words and helping hands) Have them demonstrate the gestures for each of these commitments (thumbs up for kind words and thumbs up on right hand and placed on top of left palm
* morning message- I taste with my tongue.

Give each child a pretzel and have them touch it to the tip of their tongue. Ask if it is salty.
Remind students we will have a weekly word of the week and tell them what our Wonderful Word of the Week is (sensational)

Math/ Science Circle 10:20-10:45
Ask students to use their hands to touch something on their clothes that feels soft. Ask children to touch and press down on their knee bone, and ask if the bone is hard or soft. Ask students to use their tongues to feel the inside of their mouth. Does it feel wet or dry? Your tongue uses touch also.
Distribute resealable plastic bags of tactile items and instruct them to remove them and rub it on the backs of their hands. Ask them how the items feel. Mystery bag with items and have students describe what the object feels like without pulling it from the bag and seeing the item.
