2019-2020 PBiS Goal
Our overall goal is to have 85% or more of our kids receive one or fewer minor/major behavior referrals this school year. As of January 10, 2020 424 out of out 464 students have received one or fewer behavior referrals for discipline. That means that 91% of our students at Maplewood Elementary were consistently doing the right thing! Out of the 40 students who have more than one referral, only 11 of those students have 5 or more referrals. Our students are making great choices and learning quickly to avoid repeating bad ones.
PAWS-itive PICKS
What does a positive office referral look like at MES?
*Sign the VIP wall
*Call home
*Selfie with Mrs. Fonzo
*Ring the bell
*Loud cheering and high fives
*Names read weekly over intercom
Keep up the great work, MES!
When Does PBiS Happen?
When appropriate behaviors are displayed, faculty and staff will give the students a “Tiger Ticket” and verbally tell them specifically why they are receiving the ticket. The student will write their name on the ticket. The student is then responsible for entering their ticket into the drawing in the cafeteria. Faculty and staff are encouraged to indicate their name on the ticket as well.
