Study of Fort Greene: A Visit to the Clock Tower
To reflect upon our visit, we engaged in several Williamsburg Clock Tower inspired centers. Children used popsicle sticks purposefully to construct the clock tower or something they observed within, used wooden cubes to collaboratively construct a Williamsburg Clock Tower of their own design, drew and labels in journals ,and wrote fictional adventures using the clock tower as a setting.

Read Workshop: Going on Adventures
Before reading this weekend, encourage your child to take a sneak peak. While reading fictional text, encourage them to practice one of the strategies above. Ask your child to explain to you how they can use post-it notes to mark the important parts of any fiction or nonfiction text and how many times a story's setting changed throughout their reading.
