Week ending Friday 1st May 2020
A message from all the staff at Ripon Cathedral school
Stay Safe
We are all missing the children and our families. Do stay safe and as the picture says, we can't wait to see you again.

baby News
At school we also have some really exciting baby news, as we send our congratulations to Mrs Beckett and her husband, as they are expecting a baby in September!

If you would like to record a message of friendship to share with our school family, it needs to be in an MP4 format and should be emailed (or link if appropriate) to jgurney@riponcathedral.n-yorks.sch.uk
BBC Bitesize
BBC bitesize have created daily learning for each year group. There are daily programmes for each age (primary from 9am) which are a good way to support home learning. They can be accessed via the television (red button) or online.
Do take the time to check out these resources which I know a number of parents and carers have found really useful.
Fabulous Home learning
We loved the picture sent by Mia of her perfect day once out of Lockdown.
It would be spent with Grace, Jess and Lucy. They would be out in the fields joking around, on a hot sunny day ☀️
Keep up the super effort!
Amazing art
Yummy biscuits
Beware Pirates
Meaningful May
Worship at Home
We are delighted that the Open the Book team are providing us with short films that continue the focus on the Old Testament Bible stories that they started in the autumn term. The story of Samuel is available now through the following link:
Friends Virtual Duck Race
This year the race will be put on slightly differently due to the current situation.
Lily has been working hard on trying to keep events running as much as they can and she has managed to find a website that does Virtual Duck Races!
So this year we will hold a few races with 20 ducks in each race for 2 minutes long.
You can still pick your duck number and even pick as many ducks as you want for each race.
Good luck everyone, and thanks Lily!
Adult online training
The government have released online training for adults through a new site called the Skills Toolkit. These courses are free and include high-quality digital and numeracy courses to help people build up their skills, progress in work and boost their job prospects and confidence whilst at home.
Courses on offer cover a range of levels, from everyday maths and the use of email and social media at work to more advanced training. All courses are available online and are flexible so that people can work through them at their own pace.
The Skills Toolkit can be accessed here:
