Keyboarding Challenge in Technology Class
From Ms. Hoff: "In September, we celebrated the accomplishments of our top student typists at HES who scored the highest WPM with 100% accuracy for their grade. Ms. Hoff encourages accuracy over speed as we learn new typing skills. These students have noticed an increase in their scores by following the proper techniques we've learned in class, and practicing outside of school. We will hold a friendly competition every month in grades 2 through 4 to see which student has the highest accuracy combined with the highest WPM scores, along with who has made the most growth."
Congratulations to the following students who won our September competition:
Lucas Bicknell - grade 4 - 100% accuracy and 40 WPM
Evander Crowley - grade 3 - 100% accuracy and 13 WPM
Justin Brophy - grade 3 - 100% accuracy and 45 WPM
Isabella Stewart - grade 2 - 100% accuracy and 15 WPM

Peanut and Nut Free Lunches from Home
In order to ensure adequate social distancing, we have added more seating area to accommodate our grade level lunches. As a result, we do not have the flexibility with seating that we have had in the past to allow for students to bring peanut and nut items in their lunches. It is extremely important that students bring peanut and nut-free lunches to school. This effort will go a long way to protect all students and is greatly appreciated.
Snacks in the classroom do not need to be peanut and nut-free unless your classroom teacher has made you aware of an allergy accommodation in your student’s class.
