Burnette Blast
April 2022
Spring is Blooming!
Yes! The flowers are blooming, but so is the pollen! We will get some relief soon, and just in time for some amazing upcoming events.
I am SO excited for PTA's Movie Under the Stars later this month! There will be so many fun activities for you and your family. We are encouraging kids (and parents) to wear their costumes while they Trunk or Treat! Teachers and parents will be decorating their trunks and passing out candy. We will also have the GCPS Bookmobile where every student can pick out a free book! The event begins at 7:00 pm and the movie will begin around 8:00 pm. There is more information about this event below.
It has been great having our families come back to the building to have lunch with their child(ren). You might also want to come to join us for Field Day! Make sure you read the information below if you would also like to join us on this exciting day.
If there is anything I can do to support you, please don't hesitate to reach out: 678-546-2170, sally.lehmann@gcpsk12.org.
Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Sally Lehmann

Cafeteria Updates
- Before Spring Break, we rotated the grade levels that were invited to come to have lunch with their child. Everything went very smoothly, so we are now allowing parents to come to have lunch with their child any day of the week! We have seating in the cafeteria as well as picnic tables outside that you can enjoy.
- REMINDER - if you do come for lunch, please remember to bring your ID. All adults are required to present their ID to enter the building as a visitor.
- Our cafeteria monitors are utilizing Class Dojo on their cell phones to award classes green Dojos as well as warnings to reinforce the behavior we expect in the lunchroom. Each month the class on each grade level with the highest number of green Dojos win the Golden Spoon and receive free ice cream! So if you see our cafeteria monitors frequently on the phones, this is why.
