2022/23 School Year

Hello Manning Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2022-23 school-year! I'm excited to be the Interim Principal at Manning. It is such an honor to lead a great school community! Manning has a great reputation of excellence in the areas of academics, arts and student behavior and we're excited to continue these traditions.


This will be my 36th year working in education and I'm thrilled to be back in the Applewood/Golden community. I have worked at Wheat Ridge HS (Athletic Director); Prospect Valley Elementary (Principal); and had the pleasure of working as the Assistant Principal at Manning in 2019-2020. Most recently, I served as the Principal at Landmark Academy at Reunion, a K-8 Charter school.


My priorities at Manning are ensuring that all students reach their academic potential; making sure all students feel welcome, safe, and a part of the school-community; and to work closely with parents to help our students thrive! Parents will always be welcome at Manning and encouraged to come in and talk about whatever is on your mind.

Sarah Hammershaimb - Digital Tech Librarian (Coming to us from Lasley Elementary)

Stacey Morrison - SPED Para (Manning Parent)

Martina Ita - Psychologist (We are sharing her with Dutch Creek Elementary)

Britney Derhak - Counselor (A-L) (Coming to us from Moore MS)

Elizabeth Dehm - Office Para (Manning Parent)

I look forward to seeing all of you at registration on Friday, 8/5 and Monday 8/8.

If you are a new 6th, 7th, or 8th grader to Manning, we ask that you attend orientation on Tuesday, August 16th from 8:00AM - Noon.


What happens at orientation?

First Day of School for ALL Students - 08/17/2022

The official first day of school for all Manning students is on Wednesday, August 17th. We will have a regular school day from 8:25AM - 3:25PM.

New! Doors will open at 8:10am and students will go to the cafeteria until 8:20am when they will be released to go to their lockers and first period.


To access the school earlier, a student will need a Tutor Time pass from a specific teacher and bring it to the front office.

IMPORTANT! - Student schedules will not be available to review until the end of July.


Once they roll over for the 2022-2023 school year, you will be able to log into the Campus Parent Portal for viewing.


Schedule corrections or changes will not be made until August. Counselors will have a form for families/students to submit with any corrections.

School supplies: Can be put into lockers at 2 different times before school officially starts.


  1. At registration = 8/5/22 or 8/8/22

  2. New Student Orientation = 8/16/22


Optional Supplies: These are super helpful for Manning during the start of the school year, and also during the year. We cannot get enough of these supplies. If you are willing to help donate these items, please bring them with you to registration. If you are unable to attend registration, you can drop off items in the main office anytime during the school year.

Every year we have many valuable items that are lost and found with no way to identify the owner. If your student has a calculator, water bottle or airpods- PLEASE label them with someway to identify them as the owner. We all appreciate it!

Since Manning does not have any Jeffco school bus transportation, we have several families that create carpools to help each other out with rides in the morning and afternoon for students that live in close by areas.
