Growing Kind Hearts & Minds While Inspiring Personal Success
From the Principal
Happy Fall to all our Families,
It was great to see so many of you at the football game last week and watch all the smiles come through our doors this week. The district assessments are wrapping up and we will shortly share the results with all of you via Parent Teacher Conferences Oct. 8th and 10th. We will have sign ups open soon via Sign Up genius. Please continue to watch our newsletters and website for updates.
Couple safety items to follow up on:
1. If you are having someone else drop your student off in the morning, please share the videos that were posted on Facebook so they know the routines and don't hold up our amazing set up. Things are going much better when everyone stays in the line up and remembers to be patient!
2. If there is no one outside to greet your student(s) after the 8:35 a.m. bell, you need to come into the building and sign them in. They are considered tardy at 8:40 a.m.
3. We try very hard to keep learning until the end of the day so we hope your child doesn't leave early. We also have special guests that like to come at the end of the day and students don't like to miss those opportunities. Again, any changes for end of day MUST be called in before 2:15 p.m.
We have added a new temporary PBIS Parapro and her name is Brianna Cantlon, who will continue to help us prevent misbehaviours by continuing to model expectations for every student and give incentives for Being Safe, Being Responsible, and Being Respectful. We will continue the Golden Ticket Drawings as well.
Enjoy another gorgeous weekend and make sure to get outside.
PS. A great website for parenting questions is https://parentswithconfidence.com This week they posted about the after school, hungry, moody and tired child that wants to be alone. Great Read!
Thank you for sending us your very best!

Student Drop Off / Pick Up
Drop Off
The doors open for breakfast at 8:15 a.m.School starts at 8:35 a.m.
If your student arrives after 8:40 a.m. an adult will need to sign your student in at the front office.
Pick Up
Parents/Guardians/Grandparents will enter through the cafeteria doors (opened at 3:15 p.m.), wait for students to enter the cafeteria with their pick up slips, and we will match your child when you step up to the adults at the tables, your child will drop off their pass and you will exit out the north Exit door from the cafeteria. The sign in table will move to the location of the doors so we have a good traffic flow.
Thank you

Building Healthy Communities Update: Physical Activity
Perhaps by now you have seen the Building Healthy Communities signs proudly displayed in our school to let everyone know we care about the health of our students. Healthy students are better learners and our school is a great place to learn! We will have an after-school Healthy Kids Club to provide non-competitive physical activity and healthy snacks to students in a safe and supervised setting. The recommendation for physical activity is 60 minutes per day and this club is just one more way to help students work toward that goal. Our PE teacher will soon be receiving high-quality equipment to teach students skills they can use throughout their lives to be physically active. That’s not all—we will be receiving equipment for use at recess to help students be active on the playground. It’s going to be a great year!
