Earthquakes
by Nina Sott
What are earthquakes?
Earthquakes are a pounding of 2 tectonic plates that "hit the rocks on the other side of the fault line and that causes friction to build up for years but finally like a stretched rubber band the rocks suddenly snap past each other," and that causes a rumble in the ground which is an earthquake.
Why do earthquakes occur?
Earthquakes occur because of two tectonic plates that are under the ground. Once those tectonic plates "push against the rocks on the other side of the fault line that causes energy to build up. For years friction will hold the rocks in place, but finally, like a stretched rubber band, the rocks suddenly snap past each other".
