Mid Year Performance Review
We had the privilege of having a team represent Carver at GLISI this past week (Gardner, Elliott, Veal, and Watkins). The purpose of this conference is to develop a Performance Culture while responding to your school wide areas of need. Fortunately, we already have processes in place that are required for a Performance Culture to exist (PLCs). Furthermore, we have to continuously review our data and plan next action steps to address our areas of deficiencies (Plan, DO, Check, Act - PDCA).
The Mid Year Review is a check point/tune up opportunity before testing. This requires everyone- the whole TEAM.
January 26, 2015: ELA and Science
February 9, 2015: Math, Social Studies, and Connections
Each department will complete the Performance Review template and the Prediction sheet for each department Grade level and have your PLC meeting documents ready by the date listed above. The responsibility is divided so that everyone is a part of this process and can give input on our School Improvement process.
Focus School List
Nonetheless, we have work to do.
Dr. Gardner and I visited a school in Douglas County who was removed from the list. In our conversations with the principal, the one thing that he believes made a difference was RTI.
It was ironic that at the time we were having this discussion Ms. Elliott was working with you all on our RTI process. I know that we are late, but I appreciate those of you who worked diligently this past Friday on targeting students. I look forward to the work you will do next week with identifying strategies.
