City High Update
The School That Leads
November 18, 2019
Greetings from The School That Leads! Happy Holidays to our City High community! What a fun time to be at TSTL. The play was extraordinary, truly professionally done. We are home to the Concertmaster of the All-State orchestra. Our journalism program placed fourth in the nation in the best of show competition at the national conference. We hosted a full-scale math competition over the weekend and did very well. Our Student Senators are raising significant canned food and monetary donations for the Crisis Center. Our swim team has won two straight, we possess the king and queen pin, the wrestlers beat Xavier in a recent dual, boys basketball is super fun to watch, and girls basketball is #1 in Iowa. Certainly much more, also. Most importantly, I know that our classrooms and hallways are alive with engaging instruction and genuine caring for students. That is what City High is all about.
Concertmaster of All-State!
Congratulations to Oliver Bostian, who was named Concertmaster of the All-State Orchestra! This means Oliver is the top strings player in all of Iowa. Wow! Oliver (right) is pictured here with his brother, Adrian, who is also an All-Stater.
