The HB 91 Bill
Eliminated the Georgia High School Graduation Test
The idea for HB 91 was submitted to the GA senate on 1/26/15 by Fran Miller of the 40th district. The bill passed committee on 2/9/15 by substitution, and was voted favorably in the GA House of Representatives on 2/12/15 with 173 positive votes and 0 against it. The bill was passed in the senate committee on 3/5/15, and was passed in the senate on 3/25/15. The Governor signed the bill on 3/30/15, and came into effect the same day.
The HB 91 law effectivly removed The Georgia High School Graduation Test from the requirements of graduating High School in GA. The law also reppealed any conflicting laws and gave those who did not pass section of said test a petition to receive a High School Diploma.
