Principal Corner
The teachers and staff have worked hard this past week, and we are super excited to start the 21-22 school year! Thank you for partnering with us for a successful start to the school year.
Please see important information and answers to many questions below. Specifically information about drop off/pick up below. Parents/Guardians will not be entering the building on the first days of school. On the first day of school, teachers in Kindergarten and 1st grade will be on the front porch of the school and will welcome students from 7:30-7:45. At 7:45 they will take students inside the building. All other students will report straight to their classrooms. In the afternoon, car riders will be dismissed starting at 3:00. We will only let a student leave with you if you have your car tag or come to the office with an ID. Please note that our walker/bike bell has moved to 3:10.
Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can help in any way.
Face Coverings Needed....
PTA Update
Our first PTA meeting is 9/14/21 at 8am. The meeting location will be announced soon. Please sign up for the PTA at the PTA store. Stay tuned for a parent survey to volunteer to help this year!
Supplies needed this year:
Arrival and Dismissal Updates (see images below)
The doors will open at 7:25 and students will report straight to their classrooms or to eat breakfast in the cafeteria. Please do not drop students off prior to 7:25. Car riders can be dropped off at either the front doors or the side doors of the school. We would strongly encourage those that have students in kindergarten and first grade to use the front doors. Please pull ALL the way forward so multiple students can exit their cars at the same time. Kindergarten and 1st-grade students should wear their lanyards so we can help them find their class. Students that are walking/riding bikes should enter through the front doors and not arrive before 7:25. Parents will not be allowed in the building at arrival.
Dismissal:
All students will wait in their classrooms until their car has arrived in the afternoon. K and 1st grade (and siblings) will report to the front door. 2nd- 5th grade students will exit from the west side of the building out of the blue/green hallways. Car tags will have names and numbers. The number will be typed in and your child's name will display in their classroom. At that time, they will report to the car. It is VERY important you go to the correct location for pick up in the afternoon so your child reports to your car. ALL cars will report to the front line after 3:10. Our car line ends at 3:25. Walkers will be dismissed at 3:10. Please do not have students walk to your car parked on a side street or the pool. The car line has been finishing by 3:10 daily so you can pick them up at that time. It is very dangerous for students to walk to a car on the side street.
