Building style
The Greeks built mighty stone buildings with towering pillars, this was their building style. They used 3 types of pillars, Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. These pillars are all used in different buildings, for example the Doric pillars were used in more casual buildings, while Corinthian pillars were rare, and used in more important buildings.

Greek Homes
The Greeks had a different way of building homes than anything else, they made mainly cobblestone walls plastered together with mud and clay with clay shingles. The house would have a small courtyard, bigger depending on the size of the home, a bathroom, bedrooms, a kitchen, and dining area.
Acropolis of Athens
This is an example of ancient Greek architecture that remains standing today. Acropolis is an ancient citadel that sits on top of a large rocky cliff above the city of Athens. You can see the use of pillars instead of walls on a few of the buildings like the Parthenon on the top right corner.
Greece
How they Built
Greece is mostly rock and full of cliffs and hills, which makes their primary building source stone. The Greeks used stone and mud to build almost all of their buildings. Since there are so many cliffs and rock faces in Greece, they built homes and other structures on and in the cliffs, shaping some of the homes out of the cliffs.
Greek homes now
These are some of the houses in Greece today, that are built on the side of this cliff.
Ancient homes
These are houses built into the side of this rocky outcrop.
