GWA Continues Spirit of Giving

GWA is fortunate to have many blessings. Students from K4 through 12th grade do their part to join the spirit of giving and help those in the community around us.

Walton County Empty Stocking Fund

During the month of December, GWA collected canned goods for the Walton County Empty Stocking Fund. We filled 12 barrels to overflowing and had to bring in additional barrels to hold canned goods.

GWA students and families also helped with sorting and organizing the canned goods at the armory in preparation for distribution. There is still one more opportunity to help! Volunteers are needed on Saturday, December 19th, to deliver the food boxes beginning at 8:00 am at the National Guard Armory (436 E. Washington Street, Monroe).

Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

Continuing in the spirit of community support, Coach Head’s classes are sponsoring nine children through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.

Operation Christmas Child

Mrs. Canup's K4 class prepared and donated 11 shoe boxes full of items for Operation Christmas Child.

Mrs. Gudnason’s Fourth Grade class voted to donate their class Christmas party funds to F.I.S.H. in Monroe to help a local family at Christmas. They also brought in money to add to the fund. Their donation totaled $ 211.00!

Project ReNeWal House

The GWA Beta Club students bought and stuffed 90 stockings for Project ReNeWal House families this Christmas season! Project Renewal is a Domestic Violence Intervention Program changing lives in Rockdale, Newton, and Walton Counties.
