A MESSAGE FROM MR. LUCITA

Hello Parents and Students!

Welcome to the last week of In-Person Summer Band. Let’s make sure that we have the best week possible! Check out the various themes for each day’s to dress up! Please keep in mind that, although we want everyone to dress up for each day, make sure you are wearing the appropriate athletic shoes! :) Which section is going to have the best participation in spirit days this week?

Towards the end of this week Hays CISD teachers will begin Professional Development and Trainings and we may need to adjust the calendar for Thursday’s Summer Band. We will post the adjustment and send out communication if the schedule change is needed. Just wanted to put that on everyone’s radar!

We have begun to play and move and it is extremely important that students continue to work on their music as well as reviewing the fundamentals they have learned so far! This week we will introduce changes of direction and backwards marching!

Color Guard has been working hard and it is amazing to see how far the new members and veterans have come in such a short period of time! However, we are still looking for more membership!! If anyone would like to bring a friend to band so they can check out Color Guard, please do so! If they want to join, we will take them! We can get them caught up and build our Color Guard even more!

There are just a few students who have not completed their physical or turned in the signed first page if applicable. Please take care of this ASAP, it is now overdue.

In closing, we must say how proud the staff is of all of our wind, percussion and guard members! You guys are doing a great job of working hard, being committed to what you are doing and making the best out of the situation we are working in! Your determination and dedication are out of this world!! Way to go Jaguar Band! It’s going to be a great week because you guys are AWESOME!! JOHNSON: this is us!!!

COVID-19 INFORMATION

Percussion, Color Guard and Flutes will receive a second mask with no slit this week.

All wind players that can use a bell cover should have received their bell covers by this time. Band Sponsorships

The Johnson Jaguar Band depends in large part on the fundraising efforts of the Band Boosters. Sponsorships are a very important part of fundraising. Our Sponsorship levels have been updated, and we have a lot of exciting options for businesses AND families! We ask that every family please share this brochure with anyone you know that has a business. We are eager to help promote businesses in our community that support the Jaguar Band! If you would like color copies of our Sponsorship Brochure, we are happy to provide them.
