The Career and Technical Education program at Utah Virtual Academy allows students to take elective courses that teach them valuable and marketable skills in the careers of Information Technology and Healthcare. Students also have the opportunity to take a national certification exam upon completion of their courses.

Stephanie Bird~ 9th Grade
Stephanie Bird graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor's degree in Family Studies with an emphasis in Health Promotion. Stephanie has been married to her husband for six years and they have one son and a daughter on the way! They love spending time outdoors as a family. One of Stephanie's favorite quotes is, "Courage does not always ROAR. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow."

Jesse Russell~ 10th Grade
Jessie Russell is the 10th grade mentor this year. She just moved here, one year ago, from Texas where she got her BBM (Business Management) degree at University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She has been married for 3 years, and has a one-year old baby. She is excited to work with each of her students this year to reach their upmost potential. Jessie wants to see each of you succeed because she knows you have so many awesome opportunities that lie ahead. She will be your person this year, whenever you need her please come, she is there to help.

Meghan has bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, Elementary, and Deaf Education. She has been working in the education field for the past 12 years teaching Kindergarten, working with high school students, and facilitating parent-education courses. She has 3 young kids and loves spending her free time running, hiking or skiing in the beautiful Utah mountains! She is excited to be working with UTVA Seniors this year and is passionate about seeing you graduate!!
