Joseph Case HS: a Massachusetts Level 1 School

Congratulations to all stakeholders at Joseph Case High School, in particular the Class of 2019 and their teachers, for once again helping our high school receive a Level One designation by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This designation just became public today.

Case has consistently been a Level One school since this accountability system was instituted in 2012. We are the only high school school in the area who has remained at Level One status since its inception.

We are waiting for the state to mail specific student reports. Case families should receive their students' scores from their school district by early November.

Financial Aid Night

Senior families should consider attending the annual Financial Aid Night being offered tonight -- Wednesday, October 18 -- at Somerset Berkley Regional high School, beginning at 6 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA).

If you cannot make this important event about the maneuvering through the financial aid process, check out some of MEFA's other college financing workshops around the state via

New School Store

Math teachers Chris Kenyon and Jennifer Rochette are putting their #FedEx Day proposal in action when the new school store opens Tuesday, October 24. Organizational meetings have been held and a recent contest gauged the students' voice to brand this store as The Cardinal's Nest.

The store hopes to bring the Case community a hybrid of on-demand sales as well as Cardinal-specific on-line orders.

Increased business opportunities are part of this year's School Improvement Plan. It's great to see an idea come into fruition.

Unified Sports at a Unified Champion School

Our first home unified basketball game will be played this afternoon -- Wednesday, October 18 -- in the Monahan Gymnasium, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The team opened its season last week at Durfee.

Recently, Joseph Case High School was designated as a Unified Champion School that prioritizes acceptance, respect and human dignity for all students.

Swansea Public School's PINK OUT

Friday, October 20 will be Swansea Public Schools' Pink Day to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Superintendent of Schools John Robidoux is coordinating this district-wide event

Students and educators should consider wearing PINK on October 20 to show unity and support of this cause. No cost is associated with this day.
