Are You Moving and Not Returning to LES for the 2018-19 School Year?
If you know that you will be relocating over the Summer, please notify LES Front Office as soon as possible at 410-313-5506 or email Mrs. Drews at linda_drews@hcpss.org. During the school year, transfer packets take a minimum of 24 hours to prepare. As we do not have a full registration staff during the summer, transfer packets and records may take longer to get to you and new school(s).
How was your day?
"How was your day? What did you do today in school?" These are common questions asked by parents and guardians of their children on a daily basis. Typically, those questions are answered with a simple reply, "Fine, Good, or Nothing."
Shifting the simple question/answer to something more meaningful can help change the narrative when debriefing the events and learning of a day. "Tell me about a time you shared with a friend today. What was something that made you feel proud? What's something you wish you had done differently? Tell me about your favorite center. What did you do during your Daily 5 rotation? What was the most interesting part of circle time? Who did you sit next to at lunch?" This type of questioning can spark deeper conversations. As a result, parents can learn more about their child's day.
If you're feeling like you'd like to get more out of these conversations, here is a resource for you!

Lisbon Lions Lollapalooza: School-wide Enrichment Fair and Science Fair
Note that on Tuesday, May 8th, students who have participated in a Curriculum Extension Unit (enrichment class), Instructional Seminar (recess group), or G/T math class this year received a letter in their classroom mailbox along with a schedule. Please ask your child to share this information with you as it contains additional details about the evening!
At the conclusion of the evening, students are encouraged to take home their individual projects that were displayed. However, please do not take home projects that are still in the process of being completed in class.
Science Fair Participants
If you completed a collection, invention, or science fair project at home, please bring it to school on Monday, May 14th in the morning or afternoon. You may bring it to the media center and set-up your project on top of any bookcase. On the night of the fair, you are encouraged to stand with your project from 7:00-7:30 to answer questions from visitors. At the conclusion of the fair, you are welcome to take your project home. We look forward to learning all about your science fair project!
