WELLNESS POLICY REVIEW
1. We want to increase the number of students that are eating breakfast.
2. Increase the number of opportunities for our students to participate in extracurricular activities that include physical activity.
WHY THE HIVE
PRESCHOOL AND LATCH KEY UPDATE
Unfortunately, the state has yet to release our childcare license yet. We are surprised by the delay, but we are very hopeful that it should be approved very soon. We are ready and cannot wait to get started!
As we learn more, we hope to add tuition preschool, and summer programming to serve more of our community. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE GSRP PROGRAM, SEE THE FLYER ABOVE AND BEGIN THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS!!!
We expect to make a registration announcement on K - 6th (12 years old) Latch Key as soon as we have our license. You can find the Latch Key Tuition rates in the flyer below.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
ATHLETES HUSTLING IN THE HIVE
THE GIRLS OF FALL
Kathy Lehman earned her 500th career victory on Saturday, October 8th. Her career at Concord has consisted of being the only senior on the 1986 state championship Team, earning all-state individual honors. She was also the JV coach in 1992 when Concord won the Class C state championship. Her coaching career has consisted of a nearly .750 winning percentage, including 10 district championships, 9 conference championships, 4 regional titles, and one trip to the Final 4 (2012). Overall, she's coached volleyball at Concord for almost 30 years, including 15 years at the varsity level.
Speaking of volleyball, the JV girls' volleyball team was victorious at the annual Concord JV Volleyball Tourney on Saturday, October 15th. The girls didn't lose a game during their championship day and beat Hilldale Academy in the finals. The JV girls' volleyball team also shared the Big 8 championship with a 6-1 record with Jonesville, whom they beat during the league season. The JV volleyball coach is Lindsey Lehman.
The 8th-grade volleyball team completed an undefeated regular season last week and backed it up on Saturday, October 15th by winning the Big 8 Tourney. The 8th-grade team was coached by Olivia Hotchkin. The 7th-grade volleyball team also had a successful season and lost in the semi-finals at the conference tourney to eventual champion Jonesville. The 7th-grade team was coached by Bailey Austin-Sinden
The middle school girls cross country team earned Big 8 Championship honors this fall and were victorious in all 4 Big 8 Jamborees in the process. The middle school girls' team was coached by Charlene Pyle and Bob Bates.

SENIOR GOOGLE CLASSROOM
Attention Seniors. In your graduating Google classroom, there are scholarships posted. Please check out the scholarships with upcoming deadlines. These are posted under the topics October Scholarship deadlines and November scholarship deadlines.
All of the scholarships currently listed are valued in thousands of dollars. One is even up to $200,000 and most scholarships are offering more than an award.
Do not wait until the night before the deadline as you may need recommendation letters and it is only appropriate to give someone a 2-week window to write you a recommendation letter.
COLLEGE VISITS
Attention Juniors and Seniors:
Are you considering college? Do you have questions about the application process, campus life, specific programs offered by colleges, or just want to gather more information to help you finalize a decision about what college you would like to attend? These inquiries can start right here on our own campus by attending college visits right here on the CHS campus. The following colleges will be visiting the Concord High School campus in the near future: Grand Valley State University, Michigan State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Spring Arbor University. If you want to join others in meeting with the college admissions representatives of any of these colleges, you must sign up in the high school's main office. You're ready to go and Girl Scouts is ready for you. All girls in K-12th grade are welcome to join. Join us today at girlscouts.org. Stop in the office to pick up a flyer.
