Mrs. Greene's 3rd Grade
February 24, 2017
A Beautiful Week...
- Ethan had a habit of making the first letter of his name as a lower case e - Oli remembered Ethan by writing Ethan's name on his flower baggie with a lower case e!
- Many students remember Ethan loving his Gatorade water bottle. They made water bottles out of construction paper for his desk.
- Ethan loved minions. We put a picture of a minion on the overhead and many students drew and constructed minions for his desk.
- Ethan loved to wear his ear muffs into the classroom. Someone made a picture of ear muffs for his desk.
- Ethan loved to do "the dab" dance. I overheard students talking about and doing the dance throughout the week.
Each student received a flower from Ethan's bouquet. They put it in their backpack inside a baggie. We talked about how it might be nice to stick it in their yearbook as a remembrance of our friend! I know that I will be doing that!
I can't thank you enough for all of the emails, flowers, cups of coffee, and words of encouragement from all of you! They got me through the week! I'm sorry if I haven't responded to an email. I'm trying to get caught up! The support you and your students gave me last week will never be forgotten! The words, "We Love You" will hold a special place in my heart forever!
Thank you for the beautiful flower arrangement you provided Ethan's family at the funeral! They were right by his casket! Stephanie and Christian gave the most beautiful speeches about their son that I have ever heard! They were beautiful words stated from a depth of grief I hope I never have to endure! Love and support will need to continue for them for quite some time...
Thank you for raising amazing kids and families! This is a group of kids that will be with me forever!
We will have a better week next week!
Happy weekend,
Mrs. Greene

Next Week
- Tuesday: Math Test - 8:30 am
- Wednesday: Language Arts Section 1: 12:25 pm
- Thursday: Language Arts Section 2: 12:25 - This is a VERY LONG test!
Each day we will do a special activity to celebrate your child's hard work on ISTEP. Would you be willing to help out with a special activity on Thursday, March 2? We are asking parents to write an encouraging note with a small treat for your child. Place the note and small treat in a private place in your child's backpack. After the test, I will have your child go to their backpack and retrieve the surprise. We will enjoy our note and treat with an extra recess!
There will be no homework given next week due to ISTEP! No spelling list...
