ALERT! Traffic Impacted at MJS
A Message from the Headmaster
Important Message about Traffic Around Campus
Dear MJS Parents,
I hope everyone had an enjoyable week. We are looking forward to having school back in session and the children on campus. However, getting "back on campus" will be somewhat challenging for us all.
The street repairs started last week around the school are not complete and will have a significant impact on drop-off and pick up this week. A couple of notes for all:
The safety of the children, yours and all the others, is always the priority and please keep this in mind when driving near school.
- There will be no "lateness" recorded until the construction is complete.
- We will have the students report to homeroom and advisory at 8:00 and hold Morning Prayer at 8:25 in order to ease the arrival sequencing.
- If you can park and walk your children in, please feel free to do so. Remember to be respectful of our neighbors. Use crosswalks whenever crossing streets.
- Please give yourself plenty of extra time to address unexpected challenges. Remember to spread drop off between 7:30 and 8:20.
- Each day we will post an update regarding progress and information for drop off and pick up.
Changes in Drop Off flow and approach to school
A. To minimize traffic, only Grades K-3 students are to be dropped off in front of school on Euclid.
Once dropped off, please no right turn on Bellevue. There will be a crossing guard at that corner helping pedestrians and reminding folks to stay on Euclid.
B. Grades 4-8 students to be dropped off on Waldo, traveling North on school sidewalk.
Please enter Waldo from Marengo to Bellevue and left on Waldo - not from Euclid! Please no West bound traffic on Bellevue!
C. Parents dropping off children from several grades, please go to area of the "oldest" child.
D. We will have faculty on the East sidewalk on Marengo between Bellevue and Del Mar to help middle school/5-8 students who may be dropped off on this block.
Please note we will send an update regarding afternoon pick up as soon as we have secured the information.
We truly appreciate your cooperation with this inconvenience. With everyone's help and care we will get off to a slow but wonderful start of school.
Blessings,
Joe
