The Bahamas capital is Nassau and other major cities are Colonel Hill and Rock Sound. The Bahamas were controlled by the British but then the Bahamas claimed their independence July 10, 1973. Their official language is English but some speak Creole.

Economics of the Bahamas

They use the Bahamian Dollar and they are capitilists. They import chemicals, transport equipment, and mineral fuels. They import from U.S., India, Singapore, South Korea, China, Colombia, and Canada. They Export goods like crawfish, aragonite, crude salt, and polystyrene products. They export from Singapore, U.S., DR, Ecuador, Canda, Switzerland, and China.

Politics and Geography

The type of government they have is a democracy which is run by Perry Christie. They trade to a lot of people so I think they are on good terms with other countries. It is off the East Coast of Cuba. They have no rivers and it is an archipelago.


You would want to go there because of the beautiful beaches and you can swim with dolphins.
